LJay Luevanos

Contemporary Instructor

Lucinda Luevanos “L.Jay” has been dancing since she was four, and started her training with the Ballet Folklórico de Mexico Dance Company.  She has a B.F.A. in Dance Performance & Choreography from the University of Nevada Las Vegas as well as graduated with UNLV Department of Dance’s “Outstanding Performer Award”. She is trained in the techniques of  hip hop, contemporary, ballet,  jazz, lyrical, improv, ballet folklórico, and modern.

She has experience training, teaching, choreographing, and performing throughout Las Vegas. She has performed as a backup dancer for Sencilla Conexion for both the 2019 Calibash Music Festival in Las Vegas, Nevada at the T-Mobile Arena and Daddy Yankee’s 2019 Con Calma Concert at the Toyota Arena in Ontario, California. Most recently she performed as a gogo dancer for J. Balvin’s 2021 Neon Festival in Las Vegas, Nevada.

She has experience performing within the United States; in New York, Arizona, Nevada, Indianapolis, California, and out of the country, in South Korea.  Her choreographic works have premiered in UNLV Dance Concerts, and for dance companies and studios throughout Las Vegas. Her choreography has competed and placed 1st in category and overall for multiple competitions throughout the past few years. Her love for videography is shown through the visual choreographic art projects that she has choreographed, released, and has also been featured in. Her choreography draws inspiration from mixing the genres of contemporary, modern, jazz, and hip-hop.
